Doctors at the ��Ƭ���� Transplant Institute provide transplant care for children in need of heart, kidney, liver, and lung transplants. Care for children takes place at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital—34th Street, where parents are welcome to stay with their child before surgery and during recovery, and where all our hospital rooms are private and have sleeping space for one caregiver.

Pediatric transplant patients also benefit from services provided through Sala Institute for Child and Family Centered Care, whose programs personalize the healthcare experience and support parents and caregivers as key members of their child’s care team.

Our services for children are provided in partnership with Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at ��Ƭ����, which has been designated a Level 1 Children’s Surgery Center by the American College of Surgeons in recognition of our ability to provide patients the safest, highest level of surgical care.

Pediatric Transplant Care

When transplant becomes the best treatment option for your child, our pediatric medical and surgical teams work to identify the donor organ, prepare your child for surgery, and provide ongoing care into adulthood.

The team at our Pediatric Heart Failure and Transplant Program partners with the Pediatric Congenital Heart Program to treat children who need a transplant due to advanced heart failure caused by cardiomyopathy or certain congenital heart defects.

At the Pediatric Liver Transplant Program, our team provides medical and surgical treatment for all forms of liver disease and provides living donor, split liver, and whole liver transplant for children.

Our Pediatric Kidney Transplant Program provides transplants from either living or deceased donors. We also offer a Pediatric Lung Transplant Program.
